Hooting

Please do not hoot – the guests accommodated at our facility play hard & REALLY need their sleep. They do not need any disruptions.

Viewing

Viewing our facilities during the year is welcomed Monday to Friday by appointment only. Unfortunately viewing during weekends cannot be accommodated. There will also be no opportunities for viewing during December. If so required, owners of potential guests need to view the facilities prior to bookings being made and no later than November.

Emergencies

Our vet is on call 24/7 should a guest require emergency veterinary care. All accumulated veterinary bills will be for the owner’s account.

Bedding

The Ark Kennels and Cattery will launder our guests' own bedding in the event of guests staying 10 days and longer. Upon arrival all bedding must be clean and free from fleas, ticks and parasites.

Diet

A consistent diet helps to maintain and promote a healthy digestive system and prevents stomach upset. We also understand the disruption to our guests being in a new environment and thus want to limit changes as far as possible. We therefore ask our guests to supply their own food. The Ark Kennels and Cattery will supply food in an emergency situation.

We request:

• All food to be supplied in an airtight container with an easily removable lid.
• The container to be clearly marked with the guest’s name as well as size of serving portion, etc.
• We only accept dry / canned food.

Transportation

For added convenience we offer a pick-up and drop-off service from and to your home. The cost will be R200,00/ two-way trip within the Bloemfontein municipal area (terms and conditions apply).

Arrangements are also in place to transport a guest/s to other towns or provinces should owners need to relocate. Please contact us for a quotation.

Vaccinations

For the good health and safety of all our guests we require a current veterinary vaccination card (covering kennel cough and rabies) upon arrival.

Inoculations usually require 14 days to be effective. We urge all owners to vaccinate well in advance of arrival.

Ill pets (fever, vomiting, and diarrhea) will not be accepted without a certificate from a vet confirming the illness / health condition as non-contagious.

All medical conditions must be disclosed at the time of booking or prior to arrival.

We recommend that owners treat their pets with a strong tick and flea remedy (Bravecto) as tick fever is a reality. All canine guests receive daily open-air playtime and they are therefore exposed to the possibility of contact with ticks and fleas. We do however have precautionary measures in place to minimize ticks and fleas in and around our facility.

Cancellations

A 50% refund will be made for cancellations received 20 days prior date of arrival, NO REFUND thereafter.

A 50% refund will be made for cancellations received 10 days prior date of arrival, NO REFUND thereafter.

Weekends

A weekend is calculated over a 4-day period: arrival on Friday and departure on Monday. We do not accept or discharge guests on a Saturday or Sunday. – No exceptions.

Minimum Fees

During the off peak period (February to November) the minimum charge will be for 4 days irrespectively.

The minimum charge during the peak season (December and January) will be for 7 days irrespectively.
